Tom Broderick is the founder and product architect of Portfolio Tracking. He has more than 30 years of experience designing and developing technology for investment managers, including 12 years with General Reinsurance’s New England Asset Management and 19 years with Portfolio Advisors, LLC.
At Portfolio Advisors, Tom joined as the firm’s sole senior software engineer and twelfth employee. He later became a partner and Chief Technology Officer while continuing to work as a hands-on developer. He designed and built the firm’s private-equity portfolio administration, monitoring, analytics, and reporting platform, which grew to track approximately 30,000 underlying companies, more than 3,000 sponsors, and over 5,000 limited partners.
Tom founded Portfolio Tracking after seeing that many investment organizations still rely on spreadsheets, disconnected data, inflexible software, and expensive outsourced services. He designed the platform from the ground up—including its database, transaction architecture, calculation methodology, workflows, reporting, interface, security, and deployment architecture.
His objective is straightforward: make sophisticated portfolio management easier, more transparent, and better aligned with how investment professionals actually work.
Tom earned his undergraduate degree from Boston College’s College of Arts and Sciences and his MBA from the University of Connecticut.
